]]> April is a very magical month on Lake Erie. This is when the walleye are spawning in the shallow flats and reef area of Port Clinton and Oak Harbor, Ohio. It’s one of the best times to take advantage of a “rod-in-hand” fishing method and feel the fish bite. Nothing beats the feeling of a walleye slamming your hair jig as you’re bouncing it along the bottom.

Thousands of Lake Erie walleye migrate to these areas each spring to take part in their annual ritual of spawning.

The best way to learn these techniques is to book a fishing charter for a day. Then you can take what you learn and apply it while fishing from your own boat.
